In the case of the B001 Error Code on your Airtel Digital TV. The primary cause behind such an error to occur in the first place would be due to loss of signal, between the source of signal and your dish tv antenna.

Here, the loss of signal can happen due to a number of reasons, such as: cloudy weather, thunderstorm, faulty cable, damage to the cable, loose connections, wrong dish alignment or hardware problem just to name a few.

Troubleshooting ways to fix the B001 Error Code on Airtel Digital TV

Below, I have mentioned some of the most common and widely used solutions out there, with whose help you should be able to fix the B001 error code and resume back to watching your favorite TV shows normally.

Fix 1: Check weather condition

Now, obviously this is something which is beyond your control. However, checking for the weather condition in and around your place should give you an idea whether the problem is due to bad weather obstructing your signal or rather a hardware malfunction or other reasons as mentioned above.

In case of bad weather conditions, causing the signal to disrupt. There is actually nothing much you can do, but rather just sit back and wait for the weather to improve and the signal to resume.

Fix 2: Check for any kind of obstruction before or around the dish

Another very common reason why your Airtel TV might suddenly show the following error code might be due to some kind of obstruction in front of the receiver.

You should always check your antenna for any kind of obstruction in front or around it, just to be sure that the error is not caused due to this.

And obviously, if there is such a thing or cause obstructing the signal from getting received by the antenna. You should remove it ASAP, and check whether the error still persists or not, after doing so.

Fix 3: Check any damage to cable or loose connections

Before you go on following the remaining fixes in the list, it would be a good idea to first check for any damage to the cables or any loose connections where the wires are not properly plugged in or connected wrongly.

You should check for damage of wires throughout, right from the point where it is connected to the dish on your terrace or balcony, to the end where it is plugged in into your dish tv set top box inside your home.

In case, there is any kind of damage to the wire. Then, it is advised that you call the Airtel customer support to send in a technician to get the wired fixed. And if it is a loose connection, then you can try fixing it on your own by plugging out and plugging in the wires more firmly, and see if doing so helps solving the problem.

Fix 4: Restart and Reboot your Set Top Box

One other easy and non-invasive way with the help of which you can solve the issue if it was something caused by a minor glitch or bug in the network, is to restart and reboot your dish set top box.

Restarting your set top box is fairly easy. All you need to do is simply switch off the device completely along with your TV set as well.

Then, pull out the dish card from the back or front of the set top box depending upon whichever model you have with you.

Simply, give the gold chip face of the card a rub with some clean cloth and then reinsert it back into the set top box, with the gold chip part facing down.

Then wait for a few minutes and then switch on both your TV set as well as your set top box and see if the error still persists.

Fix 5: Check Signal Strength and adjust antenna

As mentioned at the very beginning the B001 Error Code on Airtel TV, mostly occurs when your dish tv antenna is unable to receive signal for some reason or the other.

In such cases, you can try to manually adjust the signal strength by adjusting the antenna on your own if possible.

In order to adjust your Airtel TV antenna properly, you will need to follow the steps as mentioned below:

  • Firstly, switch on your set top box as well as your TV set and then go to your Airtel TV’s settings menu from your Airtel TV remote.
  • Then, head down to the Advanced Settings option, under which click on and select the System Diagnostics option.
  • Next, under System Diagnostics, scroll to the right and click on the Signal Strength option.
  • Once done with that, in the next prompted screen you should be able to see two signal bars indicating Signal Strength and Signal Quality, as can be seen in the image below.
  • You will now need to go to where your Airtel dish TV is installed and then holding the dish try to slightly revolve it if possible, simultaneously looking at the signal strength on the screen. Here, it is advised that you either ask someone to adjust the dish above while you check the signal strength inside the house or vice versa.
