How To Get Dark Mode For Google Photos?


1. Google Photos Dark Mode For Android & IOS

As Google Photos has no Dark Mode setting in the app, but it follows System-Wide Dark Mode for Android & IOS. So if you enable the Dark Mode for your smartphone, Google Photos will automatically change to Dark.

  • Go to your Phone Setting
  • Choose Display
  • Choose Dark

Dark Mode In Android 9 Pie

  • Go to System Setting
  • Tap on the Developer Option
  • Tap on Night Mode
  • Choose Always On

Dark Mode In Android 8 & Previous Version

There is no option for System-Wide Dark Mode in Android 8 & previous versions, so, unfortunately, you can’t access Google Photos in Dark Theme.

Dark Mode In IOS 13 & Later

  • Go to your Phone Setting
  • Choose Display & Brightness
  • Choose Dark

Dark Mode In IOS 12 & Previous Versions

There is no system-wide Dark Mode in the IOS 12 & previous versions, but you can use the Smart Invert option to access Google Photos in Dark Theme for IOS 12 & previous versions.

  • Go to Phone Settings
  • Tap on General
  • Click on Accessibility
  • Choose Display Accommodations
  • Tap Invert Colors
  • Choose Smart Invert

Smart Invert Dark Theme will not look professional as dedicated Dark Mode, but still, it is good to have something other than nothing.

2. Google Photos Dark Mode For Web

There is no option for Dark Theme in Google Photos if you access it from Desktop. Even Windows & MAC System-Wide Dark Mode does not work on Google Photos.

So in order to use the Dark Mode in Google Photos For Desktop, you have to use a Dark Mode browser addon.
