First of all, don’t get confused between VLC skin and dark mode. Like most of the other applications, VLC has no separate dark mode settings where you have to toggle on/of. Instead, VLC provides different skins (themes), which you can apply to your VLC player. In case you want to use the dark theme, then use any of the dark skin.

You can download skins for VLC players for free from their official website.
- Visit here https://www.videolan.org/vlc/skins.php
- Check from different available skins
- Tap on the skin which you want to download
- From the skin page, tap download
- Wait till it finishes the download
Please Note: VLC Skins do not work on Mac OS X!. For Windows put the downloaded VLT files in the VLC installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\skins), and for Linux/Unix: ~/.local/share/vlc/skins2.
How To Change Skin In VLC?
Note: First, make sure you successfully downloaded the VLC Skin.’
- Open VLC player on your device
- Go to the menu options, and tap Tools settings
- Choose Preferences (Or you can also tap Ctrl + P to directly open the Preferences settings.)
- Choose Interface option from top left
- Tap “Look and Feel”
- Tap Use Custom Skin
- Choose the .vlt skin file, and launch the skin
- Close VLC player and relaunch
- Open VLC to see the new skin
