All of the apps you install add to the all apps section on your phone. Users have the option to bring all their favourite installed apps to the home screen, so they don’t need to visit the main app section again and again.

Removing App From Home Screen Is Not Uninstall The App
If you remove any of the apps from the home screen, then it is just removed from the home screen. It doesn’t mean that you uninstalled the app.
You can find that app in your all app section and can easily add it to your home screen as a shortcut.

1. Check Your All App Section
Simply visit your all app section; on some phone, you can reach by scrolling up or down from the home screen, or taping any of the hardware buttons.
Once you reach the all app section where you can see all of your apps, then just look for the app which disappeared.
Looking for the app which is disappeared will not be tough if you don’t have so many apps; otherwise, you have to closely look for that particular app from the list of apps.
Once you find the app, simply press & hold the icon and move to the home screen. In my Android 10 Samsung phone, I just need to tap & hold any app icon for around 1 second, and it automatically moves it to the home screen.
2. Locate The App
If you have lots of app or folders on your phone, so you are unable to find the app which disappeared from the home screen, then try to locate the app.
For Android 10
- Go to the all apps section
- Tap on the search bar
- Search for the app
- Tap and hold the app icon
- Tap locate app
- Tap & hold the icon to add to the home screen, (or drag the app to the home screen by tapping and holding to the app)
For Android 9
Check if you can see any search option around all the app sections. If there is a search bar, then you can use that to search to locate the app which you can unable to find.
3. May Be You Deleted The App
If you already tried these two given methods but still unable to find the disappeared app, then it’s possible that you mistakenly uninstalled the app. To find out follow these steps,
- Open play store
- Search for the app which disappeared
- Tap on the app icon
- If you uninstalled the app, then it will show you the option to install; otherwise, it will show you the option to open or update.
4. Restart The Device
Once you are confirmed that your app is already installed on your phone, but you are unable to find it, then please restart your device.
- Tap and hold the power button till you see the different options on your screen
- Tap the restart
- Wait till it finishes the process.
5. Reset Home Screen Layout For IOS
If you are an IOS user, then you can try resetting your home screen layout
- Go to setting
- Tap general
- Tap reset
- Tap Reset Home Screen Layout
6. Check Update For Your Phone
It can also be your system (phone) issue, so go and check update for your phone.
- Go to the setting
- Tap about
- Check for the software update; if there is any pending update, then please consider updating your phone.
7. Add a new launcher
If even after doing all this, you are unable to add your disappeared app to the home screen again, then it’s possible that there is some issue with your app launcher.
In the majority of cases, the default launcher of your phone doesn’t create this kind of issue. But if you are using any third-party launcher, then this can be the culprit.
