Phone (Android, IPhone) Keeps Switching From Wifi To LTE

People are complaining in many forums that they are facing a problem with their phone where it’s switching between wifi network or LTE (mobile data).

In some cases, their phone works fine with other wifi networks but has does not function properly over specific wifi.

I also noticed that this is a very common issue with iPhone users.

In this post, I am going to tell you about this issue and how you can get rid of it.

What Are The Possible Reasons For Issue?

  • The smart switch is on, so when your wifi network is weak, it’s connecting to your LTE automatically
  • Your router needs to be updated with the latest firmware.
  • There are some issues with your phone, or network settings
  • Maybe you are not in the range of the wifi network

If Problem Happen With Specific Wifi Network, And Works Fine With Other

If your phone works completely fine with the other wifi networks but shows a problem with any specific wifi, then the problem is with the Wifi, not your phone.

  • Make sure you are in the range of the wifi network
  • Check if you enable the “Smart Switch,” this is a feature where your phone automatically moves to mobile data when the wifi network is weak. Go to the wifi settings to look for this option, and turn it off.
  • Check if other devices are working fine over your wifi
  • Power cycle (reboot) your router, just unplug the power cord, wait for around 30 seconds and plug the power cord again.
  • Reset your router
  • Check firmware Update for your router
  • If even after trying these troubleshooting methods, you get the issue, then please contact your internet provider.
