Fix 1: Restart Playstation

To resolve the error the very first thing you should do is to restart your PS4.

  1. Tap and hold the PS button until the Quick Menu appears. You can find the PS button in the middle of the controller.
  2. Then choose “Power”.
  3. Then choose “Restart”

If in case your PS4 doesn’t respond, you can also perform a forced restart by simply holding down the power button for around 7 seconds until the console beeps twice. But please keep in mind that you should only use this option as a last resort, as sometimes it can lead to data loss.


Fix 2: Check If You Need To Update Your PS4

If restarting doesn’t help then check if your PlayStation has any pending software updates. And you do this by simply visiting Settings > System Software Update.

  • First, make sure that your PS4 is connected to the internet.
  • Then go to the PS4 Settings menu.
  • Then choose “System Software Update“.
  • If an update is available, it will show up in the Notifications section. Select “Download and Install“.
  • Now wait till the PS4 downloads and install the update automatically.
