How To Fix Snapchat Not Working Issue?

Method 1: Restart Snapchat

  • Simply close the Snapchat.
  • Visit the recent app section, and close Snapchat from there.
  • Open Snapchat again.

Method 2: Restart Your Phone

For most of Android and IOS smartphones, you just need to press and hold the power button for a few seconds to get the restart option on the screen.

Method 3: Check if Snapchat is down

  • Simply go to Downdetector.
  • Search for Snapchat.
  • Downdetector will show you if there is any server-related issue going with Snapchat.

Method 4: Check your internet connection

Snapchat requires an active internet connection to perform tasks. So check, if your internet connection working fine. Simply try to open any other app. If other apps are also not working then the issue is with your internet connection.

Method 5: Switch Between Wifi And Cellular Data

If your internet connection is working fine but still you are getting the issue with Snapchat then I will suggest you to switch between wifi and cellular data. Doing this may fix some temporary network issues.

Method 6: Check your Snapchat permissions

For Android

  • Go to your phone settings.
  • Go to the App or All Apps.
  • Choose Snapchat from the list.
  • Check if you enabled required permission for Snapchat such as Location, Photos, Camera, Cellular Data, and Microphone.

For IOS 

  • Go to your iPhone Settings.
  • Scroll down to the Apps section.
  • Tap Snapchat.
  • Check if you enabled required permission for Snapchat such as Location, Photos, Camera, Cellular Data, and Microphone.

Method 7: Check for Snapchat Update

  • Go to the Play Store or App store depending upon your operating system.
  • Search for Snapchat.
  • If you see the Update option for Snapchat instead of Open then tap update.
  • If you just see the option “Open” then it means there is no pending update for Snapchat.

Method 8: Clear Snapchat Cache & Storage Data

For Android

  • Go to the Settings.
  • Choose Apps, or All Apps.
  • Choose Snapchat from the list.
  • Tap Storage & Cache.
  • Tap Clear Cache and follow the on-screen options.
  • Tap Clear Storage and follow the on-screen options.

For IOS

The IOs device doesn’t require deleting the cache.
