How to Fix Error Code 90 on Your Wyze Camera


1. Check the Internet Connection

Just check your Wifi connection if it’s working properly or not. To check just connect your phone with your Wifi network and see if the internet is working fine or not.

If in case the internet is not working then power cycle your router to fix the temporary issues with the router so it can start working again.

If even after restarting the router, the internet is not working then check all the cables on the router, if they all are properly placed in their place or not.

If in case none of the solutions fix the internet issue then please contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to get rid of the internet issue.

Once the internet gets fixed check if the Wyze Camera issue is not fixed or not.


2. Check Your Router Settings

Check your router for the following settings,

  • Security 9Mode/Level/Other) is set to “WPA/WPA2“.
  • WiFi Mode is set to “802.11 b/g/n“.
  • Check if the 2.4 GHz band is enabled.

Note: Your Wyze Camera requires these internet settings to work properly.


3. Change the WIFI Channel On the Router

  • Access your Router Settings.
  • Change the wireless channel on your router from automatic to manual.
  • In automatic mode, the router continuously jumps from one channel to another to find the most optimal one.
  • This frequent jumping results in a poor connection and shows error code 90 on your Wyze camera.

4. Power Cycling The camera

If the internet is working fine, and you are still getting the issue then the next thing you should try is power cycling your Camera.

  • Unplug the Wyze camera cord from the power outlet.
  • Wait for around 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord again to the power outlet.
  • Wait till it Reinitializes.
  • Now check if the error code is gone.

5. Factory Reset Wyze Camera

  • Wyze Cam and Wyze Cam Pan: Press and hold the Setup button for around 10 seconds to perform a factory reset. You can find the Setup button on the bottom of the screen.
  • Wyze Video Doorbell and Pro: Check on the back of the device, there you will find a reset button. Just tap the reset button for once to perform a factory reset.
  • Wyze Cam Outdoor: it cannot be factory reset.

After the factory reset, set up your Wyze Camera again from the app, and check if you are still getting the issue.


6. Delete the camera from the Wyze app and Setup Again

  • Go to the Wyze App.
  • Tap the Gear Icon from the upper right corner.
  • Then from the bottom of the screen Tap Delete Device under Device Settings.
  • Tap Yes when the pop-up option appears.
  • Now to check if Cam led is blinking Yellow or not. If it’s blinking yellow then it means you’re no longer connected.
  • Then press and hold the Reset Button for around 20 to 30 seconds.
  • When you hear “Ready to connect”, release the buttons.
  • Now go back to the Wyze App.
  • Tap New Device.
  • Tap Wyze cam.
  • Enter your WiFI network name and password.
  • When it pops up, Scan the QR code from Wyze cam.
  • Give your camera a Name.
  • You are done.
  • Now see if your camera is working fine.

7. Check Update For Wyze Camera, And Wyze cam app

If you tried all the things listed above then it’s possible that there is any temporary bug in Wyze software which is causing the issue. In such cases, companies release new updates where all those temporary bugs get fixed.

  • Check if there is any Pending Software Update for Wyze Camera.
  • If you find any pending updates then please consider updating it.
  • After that go to the Apps Store.
  • Search for the Wyze Cam App.
  • Now check if the Wyze cam app is showing the option for the Update. If yes then update it.

8. Use Compatible Smartphone

  • Wyze camera app has its specifications, and to install it on your device you have to use a compatible mobile.
  • Check online for Wyze supported handsets.

9. Flash new firmware to SD card

  • Reformat the SD card as FAT or FAT32. Please make sure you do it correctly otherwise you will face issues while reflashing your SD card.

  • Once the firmware file is downloaded, rename the file to “demo.bin
  • Add the downloaded firmware (demo.bin) to the SD card.
  • Check if your Wyze cam is Unplugged.
  • Then reinsert the SD card into the cam.
  • Plugged in Wyze cam again.
  • Now hold down the Reset button on the device for around 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Release the button as your head “Ready to connect”.
  • Check if the cam LED light is blinking Yellow.
  • Now go to the Wyze app.
  • Tap New Device.
  • Tap Wyze cam.
  • Enter your WiFI network name and password.
  • When it pops up, scan the QR code from Wyze cam.
  • Give your camera a Name.
  • You are done.
  • Now see if your camera is working fine.
