This error may come with different error messages but mainly it reads “Unauthorized. Sorry, your session was expired. Please refresh the page or login again.”

Some users even have shared that when they try to join the same call from any other Zoom account on a different device it works fine.
Fixes For Zoom Error Code 401
Note: Before moving forward we suggest you to make sure that your browser is up to date with its latest version. In case you are using the Zoom desktop app then make sure you have updated the Zoom to its latest version.
Fix 1: Turn Off Your Browser Extra Privacy Protection
Nowadays there are many browsers that come with different security settings which can generally interfere with platforms like Zoom by preventing them from accessing and validating users’ data required for them to function properly.
We are talking about browsers such as Firefox, Brave, etc.
So if you are on Firefox then try disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection under the browser’s settings, and then check for the error again.
If you are using the Brave browser then try disabling the Brave Shield and other protections. Once done, check if the error persists.
Fix 2: Reset Your Zoom Password
Next, you can try setting a new password for your Zoom account and try to log in with the new password. Try this to check if this helps with the issue or not.
You need to simply make a new password for your Zoom account by using the “forget password” option. Once done try logging in with the new password to check if the error persists.
Fix 3: Clear Cache And Cookies Data Of Your Browser
If creating a new Zoom account password is not working with the issue then we suggest you to clear the cache and cookies data for your browser and check if this resolves the issue.
- Go to your browser Settings.
- Clear the Cookies data.

Fix 4: Try Using Any Other Browser
If the error persists then the issue can be related to your browser.
During our research, we found different users who were getting this error because of their browsers. As they move over to an alternate browser the error gets resolved.
So try moving to an alternate browser and check if this resolves the problem.
Fix 5: Try Flushing Your Computer’s DNS cache
Next, we suggest you clear your computer’s DNS cache.
Here is how to clear the DNS cache for your MAC.
- Open the Terminal.
- Then enter the following command sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder and press Enter.
- Once done, check if the error is resolved.
Here is how to clear the DNS cache for your Windows.
- Go to the Command prompt window.
- Then type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
- Then exit the Command Prompt and check if the error gets resolved.
Fix 6: Uninstall The Zoom App And Reboot Your Device
