Our research team has found that you may get the error code u16 with the Google Pay app if your account’s daily limit or risk threshold has been exceeded. Google Pay has some transaction limits, and these transaction limits may vary depending on your Bank. So this error simply simply means that you have reached some transaction limits.
In a few cases, you may also get this error if the transaction is declined by the receiving bank, or if you have exceeded the maximum number of PIN attempts which can put halts on all your transactions for around the next 24-48 hours.

Fix 1: Try The Following Steps
- Our first recommendation for you will be to quit the Google Pay app and then shut down your Phone.
- Now wait for around 2 to 3 minutes and then restart your phone.
- Once your phone restarts check if you are using the latest version of the Google Pay app, if not then consider updating the app.
- In case the app is already up to date with the latest version then you don’t need to do anything, just try doing your activity on the Google Pay app to check if the error still comes or not.
