HBO Max Renew Subscription Error

If you are an HBO Max subscriber and are facing the following HBO Max Renew Subscription Error. Then, chances are that you are seeing the following message as a result of an inactive subscription plan or an unlinked account.

You might also come across such an error if you have insufficient funds in your payment account or the account itself is invalid.

However, in most cases, it could be seen that the primary reason for such an error to occur is mainly linked to instances where users have subscribed to HBO Max through some other third-party app or service.

So, to deal with such causes or reasons, and solve the following. You can try the solutions as shown below:

Fixes For HBO Max Renew Subscription Error

Fix 1: Restart your Device

One of the easiest and simplest ways out there with the help of which you could try fixing the following error, would be to restart your device.

Simply, turn off all your devices including your network devices. Wait for at least a minute or so, and then turn them back on.

Check if the error gets resolved. If not, then carry on with the rest of the solutions below.

Fix 2: Update your app

There may be times when an outdated app might also be the cause for such an error to occur.

In such cases, it would be best to simply update your app or even firmware, and see if that helps resolve the issue.

If you are using an Android device. Then, you can update your app by going to the Google Play store and updating the app from there.

And, if you are using an iOS device. Then, you can do the same by heading to the Apple App store and updating the app from there.

Fix 3: Clear app cache

Clearing up your app cache can also prove to help deal with the following error, if it is something being caused as a result of conflicts between previously stored cache data and newly fed data.

Hence, it would be a good idea to keep your app cache cleared from time to time, in order to prevent such errors from showing up in the future as well.

To clear app cache on Android. You can follow the steps as shown:

  • Head to your device’s Settings page, by either clicking on the Settings app or the gear icon.
  • Then, head to the Apps section and select the HBO app or the third-party app through which you are subscribed to HBO Max.
  • Once done with that, on the next page, tap on the Storage & cache option and click on the Clear cache button.
  • After the app cache has been cleared, check to see if the error still persists.

To clear app cache on iOS. You can follow the following steps:

  • Go to the Settings menu lists from your Homescreen.
  • Then, scroll down and click on the app you want to clear the cache for.
  • On the next page, at the bottom, toggle on the Clear app cache on next launch option.
  • Once done, launch the app to clear the cache and see if the error still persists.

Fix 4: Buy or subscribe directly from HBO

What many users had in common when it came to the following error message would be users subscribed to HBO Max through a third party app or service.

This would explain that the problem would actually be app oriented rather than bug related. That means that  one of the primary causes for such an error to occur would be that you are using a third party app to stream content over HBO Max.

Hence, it would be a good idea to subscribe to HBO Max directly from HBO itself to avoid having to deal with such errors.

Head to the following site and subscribe to the service directly from the official website itself.

Fix 5: Contact Customer Support

If none of the methods as shown above work for you. Then, it would be a good idea to directly take up your issue with HBO Max’s Customer Support and ask them for a solution to help you fix the issue.
