How to fix Omron Error Code e5?

Fix 1: Do not move and try to be still

While checking or monitoring one’s blood pressure reading, it is usually required that one should first rest for a few minutes or so before actually measuring his or her blood pressure. 

If you are moving or doing something which requires or requires you to move. Then, you should not take the readings soon after.

Doing this in most cases will give you a wrong reading due to high heart rate or precipitation.

Hence, it is always important that you rest or be still for at least 5 or 10 minutes to bring your body into a normal state and only then try and measure your BP readings.

And although, this might not be the exact cause why such an error may occur. Still it is a good idea to rest or stay still a while to avoid any kind of misreadings or even fix the error if actually caused by it.

Fix 2: Try Removing the cuff

There may be instances when the sensor inside the cuff may by itself be displaced from where it should originally be placed.

In such a situation, first try removing the cuff from the device itself and then try taking the reading again by reconnecting it back to the device. See if the error still persists.

Fix 3: Try Removing and replugging the batteries

If the error is caused due to a temporary glitch in the device. Then, removing the batteries and replugging them back into the socket might help solve the issue. Doing this actually might work as a soft reset to bring your device back to its usual state.

Fix 4: Try Removing any kind of clothing in between the cuff and arm

This may be one of the most common causes out there to actually cause the following Error E5 to occur on your Omron devices.

When you have too much clothing between your arm and cuff, such an error may occur more often than you might have expected.

Hence, it is a good idea to first remove any such clothing or covering from the area where you want to place the cuff. And only after that try measuring to get proper and precise readings.

Fix 5: Issue Might Be Serious

For some reason if the cause is a bit more serious and critical than what has been seen and explained above.

Then, in such cases you should try replacing the device if it is still under warranty or take it to its respective servicing centers to get the device fixed. 

However, until and unless it is a circuit issue or hardware damage, you should be able to fix it on your own without having to ask for a replacement or send the device to a servicing center to get it fixed.
