Here in this article, we will discuss and share the details for the Remote Play error code 8801e209.

As per the users’ reports if they are trying to connect to the remote play over a mobile hotspot network away from their home’s wifi they are receiving the error code 8801e209. Users also have shared in their complaints that when they are trying to join over their home Wifi there are no error codes.

Few users even have shared that when they first set up the remote play it was connecting over the hotspot normally without any issues but then suddenly started showing this error.

As per our research, this is a network-related issue, and we noticed that most of the users who reported the issue were T-Mobile users.

Fixes For Remote Play Error Code 8801e209

Fix 1: Make Sure Everything Is Updated

As per our research, the issue is network-related but in some cases, the error may also occur if you have pending updates for the Remote Play app or your PSN console.

So, our first recommendation will be to check for updates for the Remote Play app and PSN console. In case you find any pending updates then make sure to install them and then check for the error again.

Fix 2: Try using Any Alternate Hotspot Network

If everything is up to date, then we advise you to connect over a different hotspot network to check if this is your network that is causing the issue or if there is something else causing the issue.

You need to simply connect over a different hotspot network, and if you don’t receive the error then this means the error is specific to your mobile network, and to resolve the issue you should consider reaching out to your network provider or making some general changes to your network settings.

Fix 3: Try Using Any VPN

If you tried connecting over a different hotspot network but you are still receiving the issue, then you can try connecting over a VPN.

This workaround is for those who own a VPN, so if you have one then try connecting over it to check if this resolves the issue.

Fix 4: Contact Playstation

If nothing above is resolving the issue then our last suggestion will be to reach out to PlayStation support to report the issue.
