If you are a regular Shutterstock user and refer to the site for all your favorite stock images, footage and music files. Then, having to deal with errors might be the most annoying thing for you.

And since you are already here reading the following article on, “How to fix Shutterstock Error Code 500?”. I am guessing that you already have the Shutterstock Error Code 500 on your screen and need a solution at the earliest.

What causes the Shutterstock Error Code 500?

One of the primary and most common reasons why such an error may show up in the first place would be due to server issues. Given that the Error Code 500 is mainly a server error, it is just obvious that this error will show up on your screen when there is a problem with the server on Shutterstock’s end.

The other reason why the following error may show up on your screen at times, would be when your system is unavailable to retrieve information or data from Shutterstocks server. Again pointing out a problem related to server problems or network issues within your internet network and Shutterstock’s server network.

How to fix Shutterstock Error Code 500?

To be very honest with you. There is actually no definite or even real way to solve this particular issue on your own or infact on your end to be more precise.

Since this is an error that mainly arises at the source which in this case is Shutterstocks servers. There is actually no way for you to solve it on your end, unless it is a network issue and you have a few options with you to solve it on your end as shown below.

However, if it is explicitly and completely a fault or issue at the server end. Then, in this case, the most you can do is to wait it out or call up Shutterstock’s helpdesk to find out why the error has occurred and how long it will take to get it resolved.

And if there is a website claiming that they have ways to fix the issue. Then know that in most cases it is a bluff and there are actually no real fixes out there to fix the issue on your end.

But, as mentioned above, if the error arises due to a problem or issue with your connectivity at home. Then, you can try following the steps mentioned below, just in case, to see if that helps you solve the error code 500 on your respective machines.

Fix 1: Reset your network hardware

If there is an issue with the connection due to your home or office router or modem. Then, resetting such devices might help you solve the issue related to network problems rising up from faulty settings.

To reset your router or modem devices. All you need to do is simply search for the reset button or reset hole at the back of such devices, and press hold on it or push in a paperclip into it and hold it for at least 10 to 15 seconds. Once the reset takes place, login to your Shutterstock account and see if the error still persists.

Fix 2: Update your network drivers

Another thing you can try to see if it helps you fix the issue is try and update your network adapters drivers. If the error is occurring due to an outdated firmware or driver. Then, updating your network drivers should do the trick.

Hence, to update such drivers all you need to do is go to your device manager app from the Control Panel or search it up on your Desktop Search Bar and expand the network adapters option. From the list of options, select the network drivers you would like to update and right click on it. Select the update driver option from the drop down list and let the drivers get updated.

Hence, in this way by contacting Shutterstock’s official customer support or by updating your network drivers and resetting your network devices, you should be able to solve or wait for the Shutterstock team to solve the Shutterstock Error Code 500.
