If you don’t know how to update your gaming console then below we have provided step by step guide to manually check software updates for the Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.


How To Update PSN (Playstation)?


For PS3

  • Go to the Settings.
  • Then choose System Update.
  • Then choose Update via Internet, and follow the on screen options.

For PS4

  • From your PS4 console dashboard go to Settings.
  • Then scroll down and choose System Software Update.
  • Then choose Update Now.
  • If your console is already updated with the latest software, you’ll see a message that your console is already updated.
  • In case there is a new update then tap Next to restart downloading the update.

For PS5

  • Go to your console Settings.
  • Then scroll down and choose System.
  • Then under the System Software choose System Software Update and Settings.
  • Then choose Update System Software.
  • If you need to update your console it will show you that you have a new update, otherwise it will tell you that your console is already up to date.

How To Update Xbox?


  • First, check and make sure that your console is connected to the internet.
  • Then tap the Xbox button from your controller to access the guide.
  • Then choose Profile & System.
  • Then choose Settings.
  • Then choose System.
  • Then choose Updates.
  • If there is an update then you will see this message “update available. Select this to begin your update”.

How To Update Nintendo Switch?


  • Go to the Home Menu.
  • Then from the Home Menu choose System Settings.
  • Then from the left sidebar options choose System.
  • Then choose System Update.
  • Now wait till the system checks for the update.
  • If there is a new update then it will automatically start downloading it.

How To Update Steam?


  • Launch the Steam.
  • Then from the top left corner tap on Steam,
  • Then choose Check for Steam Client Updates.
