As per our research, the error comes when users try to update their Wii U. During our research, we have noticed that most of the users who were having this issue had a modded WII U. But it does not mean that the error is limited to the modded Wii U as in few occasions the error may also come with Non-modded WII U.

Fix 1: Restart Your WII U And Try Again

Before trying any workarounds we suggest you shut down and restart your WII U console. Once your Wii U restarts, try updating your console to check for the error.


Fix 2: Make Sure To Unplug Your USB Devices

If restarting your WII U does not resolve the issue, then we suggest unplugging all of your USB devices along with your SD card in case you are using one, and then check if the error still occurs.


Fix 3: Check If There Is Enough Space Left

Next, we suggest you check your Wii U´s NAND. It is possible that it does not have enough space left against the update that needs to be downloaded.

In case you are not aware of the Wii U’s NAND then it is where the saved data, games, and the system menu get stored.


Fix 4: Try Re-Creating The Update Folder

  • Uninstall the Coldboot Haxchi.
  • Then Restart your Wii U console.
  • Then go to the Homebrew Launcher app store.
  • Then install UFDiine.
  • Then Launch the UFDiine.
  • Then press A to Delete the existing “Update Folder”.
  • Then press A again to create a new “Update Folder”
  • Then press the Home button to exit Homebrew Launcher.
  • Then try Updating your Wii U Console to check if you can finally do it or not.
