We have noticed that recently users have started getting the error code 2006 with Darktide and as of now, there is no clue as to why this error is occurring.
But there is good news, the error has been acknowledged by the developers and they are investigating the error to provide possible workarounds.

The error mainly occurs mid-game or while joining a mission.
This is not a system-wide error from the server because some players can play the game without any errors. You can see the screenshot attached below.
How To Fix Darktide Error Code 2006?
As there is no workaround shared by the developers then it’s very hard to say what can fix the error but we will suggest trying the common workaround to check if they fix the error or not.
If common workarounds failed to fix the error then we suggest you report the error to the game support to find any help.
Below we have shared all the possible common workarounds you can try.
- First, make sure that you don’t have any pending updates for the game or the device on which you are playing the game.
- If you are playing the game in Steam then make sure it’s updated, and also your windows is updated with the latest firmware version.
- Simply try reducing the Worker threads number, if you don’t know how to do this. Then Go to the game settings and scroll down to the bottom. From there reduce the Worker Thread number by at least 2.
- Also, try deleting the Darktide Data, and to do that press the Windows/Start key + R and command the %appdata%. Then look for the Fatshark folder and delete the Darktide directory.
- As a last workaround, you can try using a VPN may be playing the game from a different country fix the error.
