  • Recently there has been a new error with Instagram that users are facing. I am talking about error code 6296 which says “Oops something went wrong, please try again later“. You can see one user’s complaint on the Apple community.
  • During our research, we were unable to find any official information from Instagram for the error code 6296. But from the different users’ complaints, we have found that this error comes when users try to open the Instagram app or try to log in to their accounts. According to us, there is one of two things that is causing this error.
    1. This is a general error coming because of some temporary issues with the app or your device.
    2. Instagram is having an outage with their system.

  • First thing you need to make sure that your internet is working without any issues. To test your internet you can try accessing any other app on your device, if other apps are working fine then this means that your internet is working, and the problem is something else.
  • If your internet is working fine but the error is still coming then check if you are using the outdated version of the Instagram app. You need to simply check the update for your Instagram app, If there is a pending update then consider updating the app, and then check for the error.
  • Next, try clearing the Instagram app cache data. It can be possible that the error is coming because of corrupt cache data, in that case clearing the cache data may help you get rid of the error.
  • If clearing the cache data is not helping you resolve the error then remove the Instagram app from your device by simply uninstalling it, and then reinstall the Instagram app. Please make sure to restart the device before reinstalling the app.
  • If you still receive the error then it may be possible that Instagram is facing some system-wide issue, so we will suggest you to check Instagram server status.
