Fix 1: Power Cycle Your Router

Most of the time the error occurs because of some internet issues, and it’s very much possible that your internet is having some temporary issues. So our first recommendation will be for you to power cycle your home network.

  • Power off your router.
  • Then unplug your router power cable from the wall outlet.
  • Then wait for around 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, we will also suggest restarting your Nintendo device.
  • Then after 5 minutes power on your router, and connect your device over the internet.
  • Then check if the error still comes.

Note: If you still get the error then you should visit any internet speed test website to test your internet connection speed. If your internet speed is unstable or slow then contact your ISP.

Fix 2: Assign Manual DNS

If your internet is working flawlessly with good speed but the error is still coming then you should try entering manual DNS for your device.

  • Go to the Home Menu.
  • Then choose System Settings.
  • Then choose Internet Settings.
  • Then choose Connection Settings.
  • Then from the connection settings screen, choose the connection file.
  • Then choose Change Settings.
  • Then tap on the right arrow, and then choose DNS.
  • Now where it says “Auto-Obtain DNS” choose No.
  • Then choose Detailed Setup.
  • Then choose Primary DNS, and then hold down the Left arrow to delete the existing DNS, making sure it defaults to Zeros.
  • Then enter 8.8.8.8 and choose Ok.
  • Then choose Secondary DNS and then enter 8.8.4.4 and choose Ok twice.
  • Then choose Save.
  • Then choose Ok.
  • Then choose Test to start the connection test.
  • If your connection test shows no issues then check if you still get the error while connecting to the Eshop.

Fix 3: Troubleshoot Your Network

  • If the error still appears then make sure there is not any wireless interference between your device and router.
  • Also, make sure that your Nintendo device is not too far away from the router.
