Fix 1: Check PSN Network Status

The first step you need to do is to check the PSN server status, oftentimes this error is the result of the system issues from the PSN side. So before trying any workarounds, we suggest you check the PSN server status.

To check the PSN network status visit here, and check if all of the PSN systems are operational. If PSN systems are facing some issues then it will be best for you to wait for some hours and check for the PSN network status again.


Fix 2: Try Common Workarounds

If PSN servers are working fine then most probably the error is coming because of some network issues, but before trying any workarounds for your network perform the below given suggestions.

  • Shut down your gaming device along with the internet for around 5 minutes. Make sure both of your devices are disconnected from the power source. After 5 minutes restart your gaming device and internet, then check if the error continues.
  • Next, check if you have any pending updates for your PS4 console, if there is any pending update then consider updating your console.
  • Next, perform an internet speed test for your internet to make sure your internet speed is fast enough.
  • If your internet speed is good then try switching between Wi-Fi and LAN cable.

Fix 3: Use The Google DNS Servers

If the error still comes after trying the above steps then try using the Google DNS servers.

  • Go to your PSN Settings.
  • Then go to the Network settings.
  • Then choose Set Up Internet Connection.
  • Then depending on your connection choose between Wi-Fi or LAN.
  • Then choose Custom Setup.
  • Then go to the DNS Settings.
  • Then for DNS Settings, choose Manual.
  • Then enter these Google DNS servers: Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4.
  • Then Save the changes.
  • Then Test Internet Connection and check if the error still persists.

  • Note: If the error persists with the Google DNS then try using Cloudflare DNS and Open DNS.
    • Cloudflare DNS: Primary 1.1.1.1 Secondary 1.0.0.1.
    • Open DNS: Primary 208.67.222.222 Secondary 208.67.220.220.

Fix 4: Switch To 2.4GHz Wi-Fi

In case you are using a newer PS4 console then check if your network is using the 5Ghz Wi-Fi, if yes then try switching to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and then check if the error still continues.

  • Access your Router settings.
  • Then go to the Wi-Fi Frequency Bands options.
  • Then check if 5Ghz is selected for Wi-Fi Frequency Bands, if yes then Switch it to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Then Save the changes.
  • Then get back to your console, and check if the error still continues.

Fix 5: Set A Static IP For Your PS4 Console

  • Visit your PSN Settings.
  • Then go to the Network.
  • Then choose Set Up Internet Connection.
  • Then depending on your connection choose between WiFi or LAN.
  • Then choose Custom Setup.
  • Then choose Manual for IP Address, and enter the following details:
    • IP Address: 192.168.0.x, for x you can enter any number between 100 and 254 as per your choice.
    • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    • Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    • Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
  • Then Save the changes without making any other changes.
  • Then Test internet connection.

Fix 6: Connect Over A Mobile Hotspot Connection

If nothing above is helping you with this error then we will advise you to connect over a mobile hotspot connection.
