The error says,
“An error has occurred. The game cannot be started directly from its directory so please launch using the platform with which you downloaded Shadow Verse” (Error code 216)

As per most of the users’ complaints, the error is coming as the users try to launch the game. 

During our research, we were unable to find any official information regarding the error but on different forums and communities users have shared some workarounds which helped them with the error. We are going to mention all those workarounds in the next section of the article.

Fix 1: Shut Down The Steam And Then Relaunch The Steam

If you are getting the error on Steam then many users on the Steam community have mentioned that shutting down the Steam and then restarting it helped them fix the issues.

  • Go to the Task Manager.
  • Then under the Task Manager shut down the Steam.
  • Then disconnect your device from the internet.
  • Then wait for around 10 to 20 seconds.
  • Then reconnect your device to the internet.
  • Then restart the Steam and relaunch the Shadowverse to check if the error persists.

Fix 2: Restart Your Computer

If the error still continues then next you should restart your computer. This way you can make sure there is no temporary glitch with your device that might be causing the error.

  • Power off your computer.
  • Then make sure your computer is disconnected from the power source.
  • Now wait for a full 5 minutes.
  • Then power on the computer and launch the Shadowverse.
  • Now check if the error still appears.

If restarting your computer is not helping then you should try clearing the cache data and then restart your device. Many users on the Steam Community have shared that doing this helps them fix the issue.

  • Then go to the Steam menu and select the Settings option from the drop-down menu.

Go to your phone settings and from there go to the app settings. Then choose the Shadowverse under the app settings, and from there delete the cache data. Then restart your phone and check if the error persists.

  • If you continue to receive the error then next we will advise you to test your internet connection. Go to any internet speed test and check if your internet speed is fast enough.
