Fix 1: Update Network Drivers
If your network drivers are not up to date. Then, it might act as a reason to cause such an error to occur. Usually, the network drivers should get updated on its own, if your PC’s automatic updates are enabled. However, if for some reason that is not the case and your network drivers are outdated. Then, updating your network drivers by heading to the Device Manager app should do the trick.
You can do this by following the steps as shown below:
- Search for the device manager app in the Windows search bar.
- Launch the app and expand the Network adapters section.
- Right click on the network drivers you want to update, and click on the update driver option from the drop down list.
Let the update take place and once successful, check to see if that helped with the error.
Fix 2: Reset your network devices
You can also try rebooting or resetting your network devices. To do this, you will need to press on and hold on the reset button at the back of the devices for around 8 seconds or more. This should reset your device.
Depending upon what kind of modem or router devices you might have. If the network device has a reset hole behind it. Then, you will need a paperclip for this. Here, with the help of an end of a paper clip, inserted into the reset hole and keeping it pressed for more than 8 seconds, you should be able to reset the device.
You can also contact your ISP provider and ask them to reset the connection or provide you with a different IP address. This might also help in fixing the network error if it had something to with a specific IP address which you may have been using.
Fix 3: Disable Antivirus app
There may be times when your Firewall service or an Antivirus app might prevent a certain download from taking place. Hence, in situations like this you can try disabling such an Antivirus app or service and check to see if doing so allows you to download files without the following error.
Fix 4: Disable browser extensions
Browser extensions can also prevent certain downloads from taking place causing such network errors to occur. Hence, it would not cause much harm in disabling such browser extensions during such installations and check if the error can be fixed by doing so.
Fix 5: Less Memory
If you have very less memory on your system or driver where you want to download and install the particular file(s). Then, that too might lead to such an error to occur. Although, it should not give away a network error. Still, it is not completely impossible.
Hence, if you think you are low on memory and that might be causing the following error to occur. Then, try freeing up some space on your device or try downloading the files to some other drive or storage space.
Fix 6: Disable VPN
VPN services can also play a major role in preventing downloads to take place at times, thus leading to such network errors to occur.
It is hence, always a good idea to disable such VPN apps or services. Or, switch to a region which is supported by that particular game or website and you can download files successfully.
