I am sure for the following CurseForge error code -1 or CurseForge Exit Code 1 Error Code, you might have already found enough troubleshooting solutions out there. Hence, there is just no point repeating the same solutions here as well.
However, after doing a little further digging into the problem and going through a number of help forums and chat threads out there. We have managed to come up with a few solutions which a few users have used on their own and have seemed to have helped in their respective cases.
So, if you think you have already tried out all the already available solutions out there online. And still have not found any luck in solving the following error. Then, feel free to try the solutions which we have taken up from the various forums and compiled here in the following article.
How To Fix CurseForge error code -1?
Fix 1: Restart your system
Although, I am pretty sure that by now you would have already tried restarting your system once. Still, if not. Then, restarting your PC would be the first and most basic step out there to try and solve the following issue.
One particular user, who had been facing the same issue says that, just a simple restart does the trick for him everytime he faces the issue.
However, as you can guess from the comment above. This solution might not be a permanent solution. And you might have to restart your system each time the error shows up.
Fix 2: Are You Using A MacOS?
If you are a MacOS user, and are facing this particular issue. Then, the user below has beautifully given a detailed list of solutions which he or she had tried, and seemed to have helped with the following error.
Thus, you too can try out all the solutions as has been mentioned above and check if doing so helps get rid of the error.
Fix 3: Repair the Game files
If you have not tried it yet. You can also try running the Repair Installation feature option on your Pack, to see if doing so helps fix the issue as has been mentioned by the user @Goyf4Prez2020 as shown in the screenshot below.
All you need to do here, is go to the Repair Installation option to the top right corner of the pack menu and verify the Minecraft game.
Doing this should take care of any missing game files which might not have been installed during the initial installation or fix any corrupted files that might be causing the following error to occur.
There is one user out there in particular who has managed to come up with a quite unique solution which involves the use of Artificial Intelligence such as Chat GPT to make things a little more simpler.
So, if you are aware of Chat GPT and know a little on how to use it. Then, you too can try solving the following with the help of Chat GPT as had been described by the users as shown above.
Basically, what you need to do here is look into the Logs in the Modpack folder for the game and try to find out what might be causing the error to occur. And if the lines of code or logs are too difficult to figure out on your own. Then, in such cases, either you can take the help of a professional or Chat GPT as has been used by the user @Skeptafilllion you see above.
And as far as what can be seen from the solution mentioned in the screenshot above. The problem was showing up as a result of an outdated version of the CurseForge app.
Hence, if you are still not very comfortable in using Chat GPT or do not know any professional who can look up the logs and find the issue. Then, you can try updating your current modloader version to see if that helps you with the error.
This approach actually seemed to have worked for quite a few users out there. So, you definitely should give it a try.
Fix 4: Reinstall Minecraft and CurseForge
You can also try reinstalling both Minecraft and CurseForge, as well as reinstall the latest version of Java onto your respective systems.
There may be times when such a runtime error might occur as a result of an outdated java version or bundle pack on your system.
