According to the people’s complaints in the different android forums, when they are trying to open any specific message which has an URL, they are getting an error message “set up URL settings”.

This error means that you need to enable the URL setting in order to open links from your message.

Previously I had an iPhone, and now I am using a Samsung brand phone. I never enable this kind of setting, or never get this kind of error.

As I can check in the forums, this issue is mainly occurring in the Lg smartphone, so in this post, I am going to tell you how you can fix this issue to get rid of this annoying error.

How Do I "Connect To Url" In Settings For My LG Phone

How to turn on URL Settings In Lg Phone?

For LG K20 / LG K20

  • Open messaging app
  • Tap the three-dot icon from the top right corner
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap More
  • Tap link & send
  • Toggle on “connect to URL.”

For LG G3

  • Go to your phone setting
  • Go to all apps or apps
  • Tap Messaging app from the list
  • Tap the three-squares button
  • Tap settings
  • Tick for the option “ Connect to URL.”

For All Other LG Smartphone Set

Any of these two above given steps will apply to most of the LG brand sets. If not, then please open the messaging app, go to settings, and look for similar options.

What If You Get The Error For Any Specific Message?

Messages are one of the most common mediums used by spammers or hackers. If Connect to URL is enabled and you are still getting the error.

Or you are unable to find this setting in your phone, but when you are opening the message, it continues showing you the error. Then it can be a spam SMS.

So please try to open any similar SMS with the link; if other SMS are opening without any error, then probably the message which is showing the error is spam.
