As per our research, the error code 104 occurs with the Quake Champions when you try to launch the game, it loads for a few minutes and then shows the error code.
The error says,
“Servers not responding. Error code 104.”
According to our research Quake Champions error code 104 occurs when for some reason connection to the server is blocked.
Fixes For Quake Champions Error Code 104
Fix 1: Check The Server Status
As per the official recommendation, the first thing you need to do is to check the server status for the game. Developers have created a dedicated page for the users to check the server status for the game.
Simply visit the server status page and check if the “Bethesda.net Live Services” and “Quake Champions” servers are operational. If not then you should wait till the server gets back to normal.
Fix 2: Reboot Your Router
If servers are working normally then the problem can be with your network. So try clearing your router cache by power cycling it.
- Power off your router from the switchboard.
- Once the router is powered off, Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Then let the router power down for around 5 minutes.
- Then Reconnect the router to the power source.
- Then Power on the router.
- Then check if now you access the game.
Fix 3: Forward The Required Ports
If servers are operational and you also tried restarting the router then try forwarding the required ports under your network settings. The following ports are used by Quake Champions:
- UDP 48800 to 48900
- TCP 11700 to 11725

Fix 4: Allow The Quake Champion Under Your Firewall
If you are using Steam on your Windows PC then this can indicate issues with your device firewall. We will suggest you to access your Firewall/Antivirus settings, and add the Quake Champions and Steam as exceptions so it doesn’t interfere with the game.
You can locate the application at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\quakechampions by default.
Fix 5: Use An Alternate Internet Connection
Next, you can try connecting over a different internet connection, in case you don’t have access to any other wifi connection then you can choose to use a hotspot connection with the help of your smartphone. If connecting over a different internet fixes the issue for you then we will advise you to contact your ISP.
Fix 6: Use A Wired Internet Connection
During our research, we have found some players who have issues connecting to the game when using methods other than a wired router connection. So we will recommend using a wired internet connection instead of other types of connections to check if it fixes the issue.
Fix 7: Use A VPN
If you have access to any VPN then we will recommend using it. During our research, we found one user on Reddit who shared that using the VPN fixes the issue for him. So if you have access to a VPN then you can try it.
