Fixes For Amazon Prime Video Error Code 5266 On Xbox, Roku, Apple TV, & Other Devices.

As of now while we are writing, this error code 5266 is not get recognized by Amazon but this error has been discussed in multiple forums, and we have done our research from there.

This Prime Video error mainly occurs with Xbox consoles but we have found this error can also occur on Roku, Apple TV, and other devices.


How To Fix Amazon Prime Video Error Code 5266?


Fix 1: Check Xbox Server Status

The very first thing which you need to ensure is Xbox server status. 

Before going into any troubleshooting please make sure that the Xbox server is up and running without no errors.

Because there is no advantage of trying different workarounds while Xbox servers are down. All you need to wait for some time till the Xbox server gets back to normal.

Fix 2: Check Prime Video Server Status

If Xbox servers are live with no problem then check the Amazon Prime Video server status.

If it is not the Xbox Server that is causing the error then it is likely that prime video servers are down right now or having some outrage.

You can see the screenshot given below where one user has confirmed that he/she contacted Amazon support, and the support team confirmed the error and suggested him/her to wait for sometime till the Amazon team fixes the error.

Fix 3: Test And Improve Your Internet Connection

  • Power off your router and wait for around one minute minimum. After that power on the router and check if Prime Video is still showing the error.
  • If you still get the error then go to any Internet speed test website and test your Internet connection speed. If your Internet connection speed is slow then contact your ISP.

Fix 4: Connect To Different Internet

If in case your Internet speed is good but you still have the error then try connecting your device with a different Internet, and check if the prime video is working or not.

If prime video is working over the other Internet then it is your Internet that is causing the error so get in touch with your Internet provider and report this issue.


Fix 5: Check Update For The App And Your Device

If the error still persists then you need to check for any pending updates for the prime video app and your device software.

If there is any pending update available for prime video or your device software then consider installing the updates and then check if the error still continuing or not.


Fix 6: Reinstall the Amazon Prime Video app

As the last workaround, you can try reinstalling the prime video app on the device.

Simply uninstall the Prime Video App and after that restart your device. Once the device is restarted, reinstall the prime video app.

  • Uninstall the Prime Video app from your device.
  • Then restart your device.
  • Then reinstall the Prime Video app.
  • Then relaunch the Prime Video, and log in to your account.
  • Now check for the error.

Fix 7: Get In Touch With Prime Video Support

The above-given workaround should fix the error but unfortunately if not then get in touch with prime video support to report your issue.

While connecting to Amazon support choose the call or text option to resolve your error fast.
