To run an internet connection test, all you need to do is head to your console Settings and select on the internet connection settings option. Next, click on the Run Internet Connection Test and restart your console as well as the HBO Go app and see if the error still persists.
This is one of the simplest and widely used solutions out there. Hence, there is no harm at all giving it a try at the very beginning itself while troubleshooting the following error.
Fix 2: Restore and Rebuild
One user named @AnthologyOfApologies as shown below, claims that he was able to solve the error by restarting his console in safe mode. And then, restoring and rebuilding his file system and database later on.

Fix 3: Accept Authentication
There may be times when you might be seeing the particular error as a result of your account not getting authenticated over the network you might be on.
In cases like this, accepting the authentication by going to your browser should help you solve the issue as have been mentioned by @earose2011 in the screenshot shown below.
Simply, follow the steps as have been mentioned by @earose2011 below and you should be able to authenticate into the network and start using the app without the error showing up again.
Fix 4: Delete and Reinstall the app
I am pretty sure by now, you might have already uninstalled and reinstalled your HBO Go app at least once. If not, then it would be a good idea to give this a try too, as a few users have found that uninstalling and reinstalling the app from and back on their respective device helped them get rid of the error pretty easily.
Moreover, if it is an outdated version you are using, leading to the following error to occur. Then, reinstalling the app should allow you to update it as well, helping you to take care of the error as had been explained by the user in the screenshot below.
