For PlayStation 5

  • Power off your console but don’t disconnect it from the power source.
  • Then tap and hold your console’s power button for around seven seconds until you hear two beeps.
  • As you hear the second beep, leave the power button. Doing so will boot your console into the Safe Mode.
  • Then connect your DualSense controller to your console using a USB-C cable. 
  • Then tap the PS button.
  • Then scroll down using the D-pad and choose Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.
  • Then choose Rebuild Database.
  • Then tap OK.
  • Now wait till your console finishes the Database rebuilding process. Then it will automatically restart to normal.

For PlayStation 4

  • Power off your console but don’t disconnect it from the power source.
  • Then tap and hold your console’s power button for around seven seconds until you hear two beeps.
  •  As you hear the second beep sound, leave the power button. By doing so your console will boot into the Safe Mode.
  • Then connect your DualShock 4 controller to your console by using a micro-USB cable.
  • Then tap the PS button.
  • Then scroll down to the Rebuild Database option using the D-pad and select it.
  • Now wait till your console finishes the Database rebuilding process then it will automatically restart to normal.
