Fix 1: Check server status

When seeing the following 001 error on Roku. The very first and foremost thing you must do is check for the status of Roku servers online.

You can go to the following two websites, Downdetector or Isitdownrightnow, to check for any server outages or issues with Roku’s servers.

If there is indeed a server problem or a server maintenance going on, due to which you are seeing the following error message flashing on your screen. Then, it would be a good idea to just wait it out, till the issue gets resolved on the server end itself.

Fix 2: Power cycle your devices

If the servers are up and running fine. Then, the problem might not be at the server end, but there might be something wrong on your end itself.

In such cases, it is advised that you power cycle all your devices at once such as your Roku streaming devices as well as your TV and router device. And, once done with that, check whether the error still persists.

This way you should be able to power cycle your devices and see if that helps solve the issue.

Fix 3: Reset network devices

Resetting your network devices might also prove to do the trick for you.

At times, a simple network reset might be all that is needed to reconfigure the network settings to one which is best suitable for your Roku devices to run properly, without showing such errors.

Now, in order to reset your network devices. You can head to the back of your router or modem devices and check for the reset button or reset hole.

And depending on whether your device has a reset button or reset hole at the back of it. You can either press and hold onto the reset button or insert a tip of a paperclip into the hole, and wait for at least 8 seconds to reset your network devices.
