Fix 1: Check If Error Is Just Gimmick

So even if you get this error, we will advise you to check if you get any emails from Steam.

Fix 2: Make Sure You Are Not Using VPN

In case you are using a VPN while resetting your Steam password then this can also be the problem. It can be possible that Steam is detecting that you are resetting your account password from a different IP, and as a result, it’s showing you the error. So if you are using VPN then consider disabling it and then try resetting your Steam password again.

Fix 3: Restart Steam And Try Multiple Again

If you are not using a VPN then try restarting the Steam and then try resetting your account password again.

  • Quit the Steam.
  • Then Disconnect your device from the internet.
  • Then Wait for around 30 seconds.
  • Then Reconnect your device to the internet.
  • Then Relaunch the Steam.
  • Now check if you still have the error.

Fix 4: Restart The Device And Router

If you still receive the error then you should try restarting your device and router to check if that helps or not.

If the error is coming because of some temporary glitch then restarting your system along with the router can help you resolve the error.

  • Simply Power off your device and router.
